HATE change in tv out in new version

Come on guys, would it be so hard to allow the iPad to show the lyrics at the same time as the external display? You have a pretty good product that is useless at home unless you want the singer to have their back to the audience watching the audience screen! Please fix this or change it

Hi Patrick,

In order to render graphics to two separate displays, we would essentially have to do double the processing per "frame" of animation.  We thought about implementing it so you could see it on both displays, but we were worried about performance.  The standard way TV output works on iPhone / iPad is to only render on one surface (ie: the YouTube app).

Are you using an iPad 1 or iPad 2?

Either way, we will look into adding functionality, maybe through a toggle in the Settings page, to render to both surfaces if the device can handle it.  Thank you for the feedback!

You're lucky that you can get the program to show the words on the screen!   I can't.

I have tried Karaoke Anywhere on both the iPad 1, iPad 2, and iPhone 4.  When using the Apple HDMI connector to plug it into my HD television, I have found that only on the iPad 2 does it work correctly for streaming it to the television, although I assume this is because the iPad 2 has the ability to mirror anything.  On the iPad 1, and iPhone 4, the music plays just fine on the television, but the lyrics are displayed only on the IOS device.  I understand that there may be an issue with fully mirroring the display on both the television, and on the device for IOS products less robust than the iPad 2, but would it be possible to make it display on only the external monitor if there is one plugged in.  I am hoping this can be resolved since Karaoke Anywhere is the most robust player on IOS.  Thanks for your help, and I look forward to the next version.

I don't understand why my friend's iPad2 works fine with my Karaoke machine and hooked to my television. Singer can look at the words on the Karaoke machine and the 'audiance' and sing along with him by looking at the television. I hooked up my ipad2 with the same setup, and get a Black & white television screen. I also have a first edition of the iPad and the Karaoke Anywhere Logo comes up on the television in COLOR, but when I Begin playing the song, NO words appear. What gives? Same setup - three different problems.

Apple introduced a bug / changed functionality in the TV out in iOS 5.0.  I've contacted them multiple times, filing bugs, and I have yet to hear a response.  We did, however, find a workaround.  When you are experiencing TV output issues, open the YouTube app, play a video with the cable plugged in, then go back to Karaoke Anywhere and the TV out should work.  Weird, right?

We are still working hard to find a fix that will work, but this really appears to be a bug in Apple's software.  We'll keep working at it, but for now, use the workaround and see if it helps at all!

That's ridiculous playing an you tube video does not work. Also since upgrading it continually states its offline - negative review going in today plus cancellation of subscription

@Soniareptil: I'm sorry the workaround didn't work for you.  We've had success with that workaround for many users.  As I mentioned in my post, iOS 5.0 broke TV output for our application and we are doing the best we can to come up with any workarounds for existing users until we can get an app-release out that fixes the issue.  Unfortunately, until Apple addresses it we are a bit stick.

As far as offline issues, it only shows that when the device cannot access our servers.  If you are having problems with the device reporting it is offline I would completely quit out of the application (double tap home, press and hold the icon until the 'x' appears, click the 'x') and load it again.  I would also try to load Safari and hit google.com to verify that your connection is active.

Either way, sorry to see you go.

The problem I'm having is not that the External Display isn't showing anything, but that the Karaoke Anywhere logo is perpetually displaying on the external display instead of the karaoke lyrics.... this is on my iPhone 4 running iOS 5.... I went and purchased an expensive cable just so I could use it on New Years... looks like I'm going to have to return it now =\

This is for both the free and pay versions btw
